Current Projects

Sawston Hall

On this project the client is aiming to restore this wonderful building back to its original form.  Unfortunately, due to previous shortage of funding, the building had not been restored in a sympathetic manner.  This is a listed building, and hence our work is under the watchful eye of a conservation officer.

To date we have rebuilt 6 gables, 4 on the front elevation and 2 on the rear, using as much original stone as poosible, and replacing any unusable stone with locally quarried Barrington clunch.

Doorways have been cut through walls up to 3 feet thick, windows have been replaced, and brickwork chimney stacks have been rebuilt, including new stone cappings weighing almost 1 tonne each.

Marble and Portland stone flooring has been reinstated into the chapel.

Taking out of the original arches, windows and door had to be carried out carefully, as they are to be used on a future project.
